Boaters In Mexico Get The Wildest Surprise Of Their Lives

For most boaters, it’s the thrill of a lifetime to see a whale up close and personal. Judging by this video, it’s just a thrill for some whales to see people, too.

This video was uploaded by One World One Ocean in 2012. Since then, it’s racked up nearly eight million views on YouTube — and you’re about to see why. While swimming through Mexico’s San Ignacio Lagoon, a gray whale calf and his mom approached a boat filled with tourists. As the tourists reached over the side to try and touch the whale, the mother lifted her baby out of the water so they could get a closer look and even pet him! And the boaters were blown away when they realized they were actually petting not one whale, but two.

One World One Ocean says, “The gray whales in San Ignacio Lagoon frequently approach small tourist boats, seeking the human interaction. While they could easily avoid the people, whose small boats are not allowed to closely approach whales, they actually seem to enjoy making contact.”

This just shows how connected we all are, no matter what species. Please Share this incredible moment with your friends on Facebook!
