Bram the donkey's life got off to a rough start. He was mistreated and underfed for many years, until a kindhearted group of people took him in and gave him a loving home at their donkey sanctuary in Holland.
Despite living a much better life at his new home that was full of love and friendship, Bram's body was too wrought from his tough upbringing. Because he was suffering from severe hoof and lung problems, the sanctuary volunteers were faced with the hard decision to put him down. As heartbroken as the staff was, it's watching the other donkeys express their grief that will truly move you.
It seriously made me tear up watching one of the donkeys kicking and biting his dead friend, as if saying, "Come on man, get up. Joke's over. Not funny anymore!"
