Adorable Sloth Stuck on Busy Highway is Rescued by Local Cops

A transit police officer was patrolling an Ecuadorian highway when he noticed something unusual on the side of the road: a sloth clinging to a guard rail. The adorable animal had failed to cross the busy freeway and was instead holding on to the rail for dear life. Immediately, the officer took action, carefully removed the sloth from the unsafe location, and brought the little guy to a vet. Once the doctor confirmed that the sloth was in perfect health, he was returned to his natural habitat.


All along the way, the police department updated concerned locals on Facebook and many were eagerly awaiting the sloth's release back into the wild. Once the rescue was complete, they wrote, "We are grateful to all those people who were interested in the health of the animal. We will continue to support this kind of case [in] collaboration [with our citizens]. Greetings to all." The Comisión de Tránsito del Ecuador definitely deserves a round of applause for protecting both human and animal residents.
